Fear doesn’t always feel loud, which means it doesn’t always show on the surface. Fear isn’t always a sense of danger. Sometimes the fear doesn’t shout, and it feels quiet, just like a person quietly sitting in a library. It stays in the mind as a small worry that someone can’t explain properly.

You may look at others and feel like they’re moving ahead in life, forgetting that we are all different souls. People seem to know what they have to do ahead and what they are actually doing, while on the other side, you are still figuring things out. Even the clock feels louder when things don’t go according to plan.

This type of feeling can make you feel confused about yourself or worried. But feeling this way does not mean you are weak or failing. You need to understand that life is not the same for everyone, and moving slowly does not mean you are moving in the wrong direction.

Where the Feeling of Being Behind Comes From

Since childhood, we are shown a timeline for life. We are told that we must complete our studies by a certain age, then get a job, then get married — all according to a fixed timeline. And when life doesn’t follow this path way, we start feeling late. Society often measures success in only one way — a high-paying government job, financial security, or marriage at the “right” age. if someone does not meet this criteria by this age, you have to have this then that person is considered and make them feel like they are behind. This is only one definition of success, which is often visible on the outer side of ourselves. Another definition of success, according to us, means taking care of our mental health, growing slowly so that you can know yourself, surviving difficult times, etc. These things are also success but no one really talks about this and will never be. According to my experience in mental health, how people suffer.

And when family expectations are added to this pressure, it feels like extra weight on your shoulders. Giving an extra pain. Because society was not alone and enough. Sometimes comparisons start from even home itself between siblings that look at this how much good is he and how it is achieving in his life. But honestly, the other person is also working hard — we just don’t see it.

Everybody makes their journey path on their own, but society wants everyone to follow that same strict pathway that they have made from very old time like first complete study, then job, then money, then marriage and then bla bla bla and then the society will consider that your journey is completed. And this pathway is now so normalised that even if we follow another or make our own pathway, then our own pathway that we have made will feel unreal or we will think that something is wrong.

And social media, how can we forget about this – this thing plays a major role in our lives nowadays, how we are getting influenced by wrong things. Like giving you an example – if we see a reel in which one person is posting his achievements, we are able to see his achievements but not able to see the struggles that he has gone through in his life to reach that point of life. And here is the catch – this thing creates an illusion in our head that everyone is ahead of us and just we are left behind and this also decreases our motivation in us.

The painful truth is this: the more we compare ourselves to others, the more behind we begin to feel. Some people start early, some restart and some even start late, So what if they start late? They will still succeed in their own time. Note it down – different path have different timings.

The feeling of being behind comes from external pressures — society and family expectations. Not from the inner truth.

Life Is Not a Race

Everyone’s journey starts at a different place. Some people move fast and some move slowly, and both are okay; walking slowly is still moving forward. Speed does not matter. Life is not a competition, even if it sometimes feels like one. There is no finish line that everyone has to reach there on time. You may look around you and see everyone is moving faster than you, while you are still figuring things out what to do. And that’s totally okay. As I told you above, also speed doesn’t matter, What matters is that you keep going.

Why some people are able to move fast its just because the situation allows them. And on the other hand some people go slow – because they are learning and dealing with challenges which we are not visible from outside.

Slow doesn’t matter what matters is that you are moving ahead you are better than those people who even don’t dare to try. Rest you know what rest is also a part of moving forward, you may be wondering how that because it helps you to gather energy or strength. And without rest tell me can you move forward in your life or in any task.

When you yourself stop treating your life like a race, everything becomes good and normal. You begin to understand your path is different, because your choice and story is different. You realize timing doesn’t need to match with everyone else. That’s where you change yourself.

Different people have different timeline

Life doesn’t move at the same speed for everyone. Some reach early, some later, some take breaks, and some restart. All of it, is normal. Different people have different timelines. This doesn’t make any better or worse. You must know that life is shaped by personal experience and your struggle. Through mistakes and struggle we learn and grow.

Some people are building their future, while others are healing from past. Both are OK and good. Both take times some take less, some take more. Those who take more time doesn’t mean they have chosen the wrong path. And sometimes delays are not failures, they are periods of learning, growing, and becoming something stronger from inside.

Just because something hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it never will. Comparing others with yourself will only create pressure inside you. Note this point, everyone is different and everyone is facing challenges it’s just we don’t feel it or see it, it doesn’t exist.

Your life isn’t late its taking its own time and it will unfold at the right time and place.

Mental health can change your pace

Mental health plays a major role in our life. I think one of the most important things that we need to have is good mental health that’s it. When someone suffers from mental health – the whole situation of life changes. Some people move slower in life – you know why that not because they are lazy, its because their mental health silently affects them. How it affects them through anxiety and depression and these things slow down the person time by time if not treated properly.

The problem is mental struggles are invisible. No one can see them. People often see results but never look at the efforts made by the person in the past. So it becomes easy to judge yourself by someone else pace.

Life was never meant to be a race, but today’s world had made it like that. If you need to slow down, then kindly slow down no need to hurry because Slowdown is not a failure. it is care. It is survival for becoming something stronger in future.

You are still growing

Just because life feels slow Doesn’t mean nothing is happening and nothing is going to happen. Growth isn’t always visible on the outside. Sometimes the bigger changes happen onto the inside. You may be wondering how growth looks from inside let me tell you, you learn to control your emotions, you understand yourself better.

Not all progress can be seen, let me give you an example of a tree – a tree doesn’t grow overnight its roots grow quietly under the ground before anything appears above the surface pause. In the same way, you are building Strength, Patience, understanding which will help you to grow in future.

Note this point – You’re not falling behind. You are still becoming. And Good things take time.

You are allowed to take a different path

It’s OK if your life does not look like everyone else. It’s not your fault at all. And, no need to worry on that. You don’t have to follow the Standard Life plan that society made that by this age you have to do this and that, no. Changing direction or starting again from the scratch isn’t wrong. It’s a sign of bravery.

Life is not a straight Road. There are turns & breaks. These changes help you to become something better and these changes teaches you something.

Note this point – live a life that looks right to you, nothing else. No need to think about others.

You are not behind

You are not behind in your life. Living a life at your own speed is actually a very good and positive thing. Just because your path and journey is different it does not mean you are not doing great. Or its wrong. Some people bloom early, and some bloom later. That totally depends upon your luck and hardwork.

And

Never ever take life as a competition. There is no deadline in actual it’s just our society which doesn’t know what they are doing that by this age you should achieve or reach this or that.

You are not late to your own life. You are exactly where you need to be right now.
